How
much does it cost to build a website?
We have built sites, which are shown in our portfolio, for as
little as $500. The other extreme is a site where we have a
contract to do daily updates of press releases and schedules.
How
long does it take to build a website?
Turn around can be very quick if you have the content and
graphics already selected and edited. If you do not have your
content or graphics ready, we can help, but it will take a
little longer. After the initial meeting, most sites can be
up and running in two to three weeks.
How
do I pick a domain name? How do I find a web host?
We will help you with every step. Crunchy Byte doesn’t
host websites, but we have had great experience working with
several reliable vendors.
How
expensive is web hosting?
Web hosting can be as little as $8 per month for a basic site.
E-commerce sites begin at about $40 per month.
What
if I want to change my existing website?
Any changes you want made to your existing site are charged
at the same hourly rate as the initial build.
Who
owns my site?
You do! Once the initial build is complete, or at any point
along the way, we will create a CD for you of all your websites’
files. We have never had it happen, but if you
decide not to work with us anymore, all of the design work
you have paid for is yours.
How
do I get listed on search engines?
When we build your site, we keep in mind how search engines
work. We work hard to make sure your site is optimized and
easy to reach via the most popular search engines. Once
it is finished, we will submit your site to the most popular
search engines.
Can
I get an email address to match my web address? (me@mydomain.com)
Most web hosts include a certain number of email addresses
as part of the monthly fee. We will help you choose the right
host for your site keeping in mind your desire for matching
email addresses. Once we have agreed upon and chosen
a host, we will set-up your email account(s) for you.
What
information do you need from me to get started?
The first step is to sit down and discuss what kind of site
you are looking for. Before we can begin, we need to know
about your business, your customers, and your intentions for
you website. The next step is amassing the information.
Graphics, photos, logos, contact information and content all
need to be available early in the process.
How
will I know if anyone visits my site?
All of the web hosts we currently work with keep site statistics
for you. We will either show you how to access those
statistics, or we will arrange to get them to you on a regular
basis.
I
have a great website! Now what?
Tell everyone you know! Put your new website on your
business cards, voice mail or answering machine, flyers, yellow
page ad, car signs, bumper stickers, handouts, pens, etc.
The more exposure your site, gets the better!
